High School Arts

Visual Arts

Manifest Creativity

Our visual arts program is designed to spark students’ imaginations, promote their skill development, and encourage them to take risks as they engage in the creative process. Students create visual problem-solving projects that incorporate fields of study including ceramics, fiber arts, painting and photography. The projects are then bridged across the curriculum and integrated into a variety of subjects. The program empowers students to develop and refine their visual communication skills through the application of the elements and principles of art along with exploration of historical and contemporary artists. Students learn to discuss their own work and to think critically about art and its place in the culture and society.

Theater Arts

Living Literature, Arts in Action

Students can discover and pursue their passions through theatrical productions, with integrated units of study that allow them to explore the history and impact of the performing arts on society and culture.  Productions during the year and the added Drama Club give hands-on experience in developing new skills around chosen forms of expression. Emphasis is on developing individual craft as well as team-building while assembling the necessary elements to create a complete production.

Music

Explore Your Passion

Our music program supports students in pursuing their passion for singing and instrumentation, from assisting those who are just learning to those who desire to advance their skills. Students apply knowledge and experience in the appreciation of diverse musical styles and cultures, and are challenged to integrate musical understanding into other academic disciplines.  Our musicians create, develop and perform music for the school and local community, providing them with exciting opportunities to present their talents. Students have the opportunity to mix with the world of professionals by having guest musicians visit and go see live performances in the community.  The program invites each student to make discoveries and take risks, reminding them that they are already a musician when they step into the studio.
