Students in grades 9-12 have the opportunity to participate in several lunch time and after-school clubs and activities. All of these are generated by student interest, and have at least one advisor.
The Debate Club is a great place for students to explore the art of “organized arguing.” Students in Debate Club will be discussing current issues and will practice using a strong voice and good presentation skills in a fun, safe environment.
The Photography/Art Club is an organization for students who want to extend their talents through art and photography experiences outside the classroom, and to contribute to the school through art. The club provides an opportunity for students to meet and work together, sharing their knowledge and skills.
The Math Club helps foster a love for mathematics and problem solving. Our goal is to have fun, to learn a lot of math, and enjoy math with others who appreciate it!
The Science Club is for students who are interested in working on science-related projects in areas such as biology, physics, chemistry, earth science and engineering.
The Music Club is designed to bring students together who have a common interest in the world of music. Music Club seeks to expose its members to different varieties of music, expanding their appreciation for music and hopefully giving them the chance to discover what music means to them.
This club is open to all students interested in performing or working backstage in theatrical productions. The club provides opportunities for actors and crew members to advance their skills and widen their repertoire.
Student Government Club
The club’s purpose is to serve the student body of Garden Street Academy. It achieves this by listening to and working with the students to plan events such as ELF (Entertainment Lounge Friday) and our school dances.
Culinary Club is open to all students who are interested in learning about and practicing the art of cooking. Students have the opportunity to be involved in hands-on experiences in our teaching kitchen.
This club is for students who have an interest in learning the tactics and strategies of the game of chess.
Instead of focusing on one sport, this club offers a variety of sports/activities. The club focuses on the importance of fitness, hard work, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Participants will actively become involved in the world of technology. We gain experience using technology and various projects that creatively incorporate your technology skills.
