As part of their Classroom City unit, the second and third graders took a field trip to the Santa Barbara Courthouse to visit a courtroom, meet a presiding judge and witness a live court case. The Honorable Judge Anderle answered questions as students sat in the jury box, visited with lawyers and met the courtroom staff. The students were so excited to get a glimpse of a real court case and learn what it is like to make important decisions for members of our community. The visit ended with a special visit to Judge Anderle’s chambers.
