High School

High School

The High School is characterized by a diverse group of students and faculty who pursue their interests within the context of a meaningful, integrated curriculum. In this informal, collegial setting, students are challenged to meet the demands of a burgeoning 21st-century global society that requires knowledge, skills, collaboration and perspective that go beyond textbook-based education. Intellectual and academic excellence are our goals.

The High School curriculum is divided into four integrated areas: Humanities, Languages, Visual and Performing Arts, and Math/Science. Our goal is to provide the knowledge and skills students need for college success. Classes are taught in a seminar format with 15 students or less, and the use of project-based learning allows individuals to delve deeply into the subject and demonstrate unique approaches and learning styles. Graduation requirements exceed those of most schools as well as the admission requirements for University of California campuses and other colleges. Most students fulfill 3 or more years of each subject area, including art, performance or music.
