The kinder and first-grade students have been learning about string instruments! They took a violin lesson from Aksel’s dad and created guitars in art.
While in art, kinder and first grade was introduced to the master, Pablo Picasso, and created a guitar inspired by his work. Students learned about the cubism and abstract styles seen in Pablo Picasso’s work. Students were encouraged to use shapes and go outside of “perfect” assembly to create their Picasso-like guitar. This is a mixed media piece, which includes painted paper, yarn, and a part of a toilet paper roll!
These pieces turned out bold and happy!
