Every year in October, high school students in grades 9-11 take the PSAT / NMSQT, one of a few tests included in the SAT Suite of Assessments. Students are tested in Reading, Writing, Language, and Math, providing students an opportunity to prepare for the SAT. Generally, only juniors take the PSAT / NMSQT, but Garden Street Academy offers the test, on site, to grades 9-11. Giving our students multiple opportunities to take standardized tests helps acclimate them to the stressful test environment experienced when they begin taking the SAT in the spring of their junior year. Juniors who take the PSAT/NMSQT may also qualify for the National Merit Scholarship if they score high enough.
